Protea bulb

Our morning trip the following day was to the UCSC Arboretum, where many of the proteas were in the process of blooming. We had a decent amount of rain that morning before sunrise, and a decent amount of rain later in the morning, but not too much to interrupt the morning shoot. I was really interested in how the water remained attached to so many of these plants.
