Atop Santa Lucia

After dropping off our loot in Quito, we bussed on to Santa Lucia, a cloudforest reserve to the northwest of Quito. After riding a bus for two hours, a truck for one hour, and hiking up a 25% grade for two hours, we arrived at the lodge in Santa Lucia. I had a few moments of vertigo as we crested the mountain, as we were completely surrounded by clouds that evening, and the hill seemed to stand alone in the middle of a void.
